INDIAN ISLAND - The State Fire Marshal's Office is seeking the public's help in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with an arson fire on Indian Island, near Old Town, late Tuesday night. Investigators say two Molotov cocktails were thrown into a house on Oak Hill Street about 11:45 p.m. There was one man inside the house at the time who escaped injury and was able to put the most of the fire out before the Indian Island Fire Department arrived on the scene. The house sustained minor damage.
Investigators said a man was seen near the house just before the fire and State Police detectives completed a composite drawing of the suspect Wednesday.
He is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, more than 6-feet tall, 200 pounds, with a mustache and a scraggly beard. The man was wearing a dark waist length coat, and a camouflage ball cap with ear flaps. Anyone with information on the identify is asked to call State Police in Orono at 1-800-432-7381 or 911 on any cell phone.
