Robbery in Brewer

BREWER - The Brewer Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the South Main Street Big Apple.

On Wednesday, August 17, at 2:08 a.m. the Brewer Police Department responded to a robbery at the Big Apple Convenience Store on South Main Street in Brewer.   The lone suspect was described as a black male, approx. 5-foot 8-inches tall, thin build, weighing approximately140 to150 lbs, and clean shaven.  The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a blue or black "hoodie," and a hat (unknown style or color).  An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

The robbery involved the threatened use of force.  It is unknown if the suspect actually had a weapon.  The suspect left the store on foot, travelling north on South Main Street toward the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge.

Investigators from the Brewer Police Department believe that the suspect may have been in the area of the Big Apple store prior to the robbery. Anyone that has information about this incident or may have seen someone matching the suspect's description during that time period is asked to call the Brewer Police Department at 989-7001.
