Bob Bishop promoted to lieutenant

BANGOR, Maine –  Bob Bishop was promoted from sergeant to the rank of lieutenant effective Sunday, September 22, 2013. Bishop is a long-time resident of Orrington, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in Criminal Justice.
Bishop entered the National Park Service as a Ranger at Acadia National Park for three years. He then worked as a patrol officer from 1980 to 1984 for City of Ellsworth and joined the Bangor Police Department in September 1984.
Bishop served as the departments training officer from 1988 to 1992, and promoted to Sergeant in January 1992. He was assigned to the departments Training Division and as the primary firearms instructor, both at Bangor Police Department and the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA).  Bishop is Chairman of all firearm activity for the law enforcement community in Maine law enforcement and for MCJA.
